Card Contents

Recite Cards
Recite cards require the cardholder to recite verses from the song listed on the card without mentioning any forbidden words until a teammate guesses the song, the cardholder passes, or time expires.

If the cardholder doesn’t know the words to the song, he/ she can verbally elect to convert the card to a describe card, but the player will only get 1 point if answered correctly.

If the cardholder fails to announce the conversion to a Describe card, the opponents can call out the penalty while the card is in play.  The card will then be forfeited, and the cardholder will be penalized by the listed point total. The cardholder should proceed to the next card in hand.

Game Play

Select Teams and Play Order

Split the players into 2 teams, or up to 5 two-player (couples) teams.  Teams can be uneven, but each player must take a turn as the cardholder in a repeated order established at the start of the game.

Establish a Point Total to Win the Game

The default point total is 50 points, but it can be adjusted based on your preferences.

Host Sends 5 Cards to Cardholder

The Host sends photos of 5 cards to the cardholder by text, email, or chat after any Bonus card has been played.

No Card Exchanges

Card exchanges are not permitted in virtual play.  The cardholder must play with the cards that were sent by the Host.

Arrange Cards for Play

The cardholder has a 60-second prep period to review, and place the cards in a preferred order prior to play. The cards do not have to be played in the order they were received.

The prep period ends when the player says he/she is ready, or the Host announces that the prep time has elapsed.

Start Play

Play starts when the Host says “Go” and starts the timer. The cardholder continues to recite or describe a card until teammates answer it correctly, the card is passed, or the opposing team calls out a penalty.  The cardholder then proceeds through the remaining cards until time expires.

Call out Penalties

The Host will monitor the cardholder's cards and call out penalties for the use of any forbidden words.

It is the opponent's responsibility to call penalties for the use of a song's hook.  If opponents don't catch the penalty, then the cardholder can proceed with play until the card is answered correctly or passed.

Steal Points for Unanswered Cards

The opposing teams can steal points if they can correctly answer any of the unanswered cards, after time has expired.  Opponents can only guess once per unanswered card- no multiple guesses.

If playing the Couples format, "Steal" answers must be written/ typed and presented at the same time, per unanswered card.

Tally Points

After the cardholder's time expires, The Hosts adds the point total listed on each card answered correctly and deducts the points listed on cards that were forfeited due to penalties. Bonus cards are then applied.

Total points = (correct answers - penalties) * bonus card
