Describe (Red) Cards
Card Contents
The cardholder continues to describe the card until a teammate guesses the answer, he/ she passes, or the opposing team calls out a penalty for using a forbidden word. The cardholder then proceeds to the next card.
Bonus Cards
18 bonus cards are included in the deck, which enables players to earn additional points and control which of their opponent's teammates is up to play. Bonus cards can be played when selected, or saved for use later in the game.
All bonus cards must be played before the player picks cards from the deck. Only 1 bonus card can be played per turn.
Game Play
Select Teams and Play Order
Split the players into 2 teams, or up to 5 two-player (couples) teams. Teams can be uneven, but each player must take a turn as the cardholder in a repeated order established at the start of the game.
Establish a Point Total to Win the Game
Select 5 Cards from the Deck
The player who is up next as the cardholder announces any bonus card that will be played, and then selects the first 5 cards from the deck.
Exchange Cards (Optional)
The cardholder has the option to return cards to the deck in exchange for new cards, pulled from the top of the deck. The new set of cards must be played. A card exchange is only allowed once per turn.
Arrange Cards for Play
The cardholder has a 60-second prep period to review, exchange, and place the cards in a preferred order prior to play. The prep period ends when the player says he/she is ready, or the opposing team announces that the prep time has elapsed.
Start Play
Play starts when the opposing team says “Go” and starts the timer. The cardholder continues to recite or describe a card until teammates answer it correctly, the card is passed, or the opposing team calls out a penalty. If all 5 cards are answered with time remaining, the player continues to select additional cards from the deck, one at a time, until the card is answered or time expires.
Call out Penalties
One opponent can view the cardholder's hand in order to monitor the mention of any forbidden words during play. Any opponent can call out a penalty, but it must be while the card is still in play. If opponents don't catch a penalty, then the cardplayer can proceed with playing the card until its answered correctly or passed.
Steal Points for Unanswered Cards
If playing the Couples format, "Steal" answers must be written/ typed and presented at the same time, per unanswered card.
Tally Points
After the cardholder's time expires, add the point total listed on each card answered correctly and deduct the points listed on cards that were forfeited due to penalties. Then apply any Bonus cards played.
Total points = (correct answers - penalties) * bonus card
